Strangers attacked with shootings in two Jewish religious schools in his Montreal Canada on the night of Wednesday (08/11) to Thursday, without causing any injuries, the police announced.

As reported by the APE-MPE, the police announced that they were found bullet marks were found on the doors of two Jewish educational institutions in the city of Montreal on Thursday morning.

The shots were reportedly fired in the middle of the night when the schools were empty and therefore did not cause any injuries, authorities said.

“I want to be very clear. We condemn this anti-Semitic violence in the most intense way”, reacted the prime minister Justin Trudeau after he had spoken of a “terrifying” increase in anti-Semitism and Islamophobia amid the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Quebec Premier Francois Legault issued an “appeal for calm to all Quebecers,” condemning this action as well as a violent confrontation that took place on Wednesday (08/11) at a Montreal university.

Two groups of students, one pro-Israel and the other pro-Palestinian, clashed at Concordia University, injuring three people, according to the university and the police who had to intervene.

One person was arrested for assault.

Swastikas and an incitement to hate posted online were also reported by the school, which speaks of “alarming increase in acts of intimidation” the last days.

The premier of Quebec “also called on the police forces” to try to calm the social climate and did not rule out the possibility of banning the gatherings taking place on the fringes of the war in the Middle East.

Earlier this week, Montreal police announced they had launched an investigation after a Molotov cocktail attack on a synagogue in the Quebec metropolis.
