The torturous hours – for the girl’s relatives – when she disappeared earlier today have come to an end, as she was found safe and sound!
The police made thorough checks in order to find the little girl, both on foot and by vehicle in the center of Patras, using information that she was moving in the wider area of St. Georgiou.
Patras: “End of alert” for the little girl who had disappeared
The little girl was found shortly after 7:30 in the afternoon by police men, at the intersection of Patreos and Ypsilantou, near the Archaeological Service. There had been a collaboration between EL.AS and a mobile phone company and the route of the minor was traced by the imprint of her mobile phone.
“It’s one of those moments when I really feel proud to represent such police officers as well as the work we do! Utilizing technology and after a huge mobilization, the agony for parents has come to an end. We all understand what they went through all day.
Many congratulations to the Security of Patras and especially to the juvenile office, to Immediate Action/Dias and to the colleagues of the departments who managed to locate the girl who was searched for by her relatives for several hours! Finally, all is well,” said the president of the Union of Police Officers of Achaia, Haris Tsitsikas.
The little girl left this morning to go to her primary school in the Anthoupoli area.
However, when her father went to pick her up at around 4 pm, he was informed that she had not appeared in his class (6th grade), which shocked both the educational community and her parents.
The disappearance was immediately reported to the Police and investigations were launched to locate the little girl in many areas of Patras starting from places near the school but also in other parts of the center but she was not found until 6.30 in the afternoon.
