Professor of International Relations, Middle East expert, Sotiris Roussos, believes that the only way to stop the dialectic of violence, as he says, or the vicious circle of violence, is for the US to pressure Israel to accept the two-state solution and the Arab states to pressure the Palestinian organizations to sit at the negotiating table.
Any challenge to the Netanyahu government, which has existed in the past period with the mobilizations and protests against it, argues that it is not reflected as such in the elections in any way, as the protesters are usually from the left parties that hover around 10%.
As for the role of Greece, he believes that it should be more active and political and that there is a lot of room for mediation.
“We have close cooperation with Israel, but not an alliance,” he says. “We have an alliance with France. When the US shelved the East Med, Israel did not fight back.”
