Constantinos Hatzimikhail announced his resignation from the position of the president of the Alexandroupolis Port Organization, with a post on social media.

“In the midst of situations that constitute obstacles to the continuation of the nationally important work of the Organization and are not consistent with my own attitude to life, I submitted, as requested and as I had informed competently that I would do, my resignation from the position of President of the Organization Port of Alexandroupolis” says Mr. Hatzimichael and adds: “I served the national interest with consistency, self-sacrifice & dignity in the most dynamic period of the one hundred and fifty-three year history of the port of Alexandroupolis, promoting the promotion of the area and the creation of an important geopolitical footprint of Greece in Eastern Europe!”.

He also notes that he feels “proud, among other things, for the transformation during the days of my presidency, of the port of Alexandroupoli into an international hub of military logistics, making it a vital strategic infrastructure of international security, as well as for the growth of its commercial activities!”.

Finally, he notes that he is leaving “concerned about the future and worried about the consolidation of the unique strategic character and role of the port, a concern which I had communicated in time”.
