On the one hand, high speeds are developed, and on the other hand, the lack of a dividing island does not allow vehicles that deviate or deviate from their course to be restrained.
In the context of the concession of Egnatia Road, the contractors undertake to upgrade the specific road section to a highwayacquiring in its entirety intersection with two lanes and LEA in each directionin order to enhance road safety and provide both drivers and the local community with significant benefits.
As Mr. Tachiaos pointed out, the upgrading of the Chalastra-Polykastro section will lead to interventions on the existing roadand therefore “a meeting should be held with the Thessaloniki Traffic Police and the Kilkis Traffic Police in order to discuss low-cost measures that will improve the situation at least in terms of road safety”.
He added that there should also be individual responsibility, with compliance with the Road Traffic Code.
