According to the manager of the Corfu Hospital M. Englezopoulou, a preparedness exercise was planned to be carried out in 13/11/2023 at 17.30 in the afternoon with a staged Scenario, for dealing with earthquake events and fire at the Corfu General Hospital, under the supervision of the National Center for Immediate Aid – Health Operations Center – EKAV/KEPY and the assistance of “Friendly” Forces, which provides:
A) fire event in the Emergency Department, smoke inflow into the Intensive Care Unit (glass panes broken) and potential inflow into the Surgeries
B) air transport of two (2) patients, via ECAB, from the Intensive Care Unit
Treatment
C) Development of Outdoor Screening in the Hospital premises
D) transportation of two (2) patients by stretcher, two (2) patients by wheelchair and three
(3) ambulatory patients from the Emergency Department to
Outdoor Screening
E) transfer of one (1) surgical patient from the Surgery to the Surgical Clinic
F) Evacuation from Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit
and Ambulatory Surgeries
G) extrication of two (2) trapped employees from rooftops
