After a long summer, the weather changes from today as the mercury is expected to drop significantly.
According to the latest meteo data, the maximum temperature values are not expected to exceed 17-19 degrees in the northern continental areas and in the Northern Aegean, 20-22 degrees in the remaining continental areas (with the exception of the southern Peloponnese where in some places it will reach 24-25 °C), 19-21 degrees in the Ionian and 22-24 degrees in the islands of the Central and South Aegean and in Crete.
The map below shows the expected drop in maximum temperature on Thursday. As can be seen, in parts of Central Macedonia, Thessaly, Eastern Sterea and Eastern Peloponnese the drop is expected to exceed 8 degrees.

In Sterea, Evia, Thessaly, eastern and in places central Macedonia, Thrace and the islands of the north-eastern Aegean, increased clouds are forecast with local rains and isolated storms and rapid improvement. In the rest of the areas few clouds temporarily increased with the possibility of weak local rains.
Winds will blow to the south from west directions 3 to 5 Beaufort and to the north from north directions 3 to 5 and temporarily until midday hours on the seas locally up to 6 Beaufort.
The temperature will drop and reach 17 to 20 in the north, 22 to 24 in the rest of the country and locally in Crete and the Dodecanese 25 degrees Celsius.

MACEDONIA, THRACE
Weather: In the east, a few clouds temporarily increased until noon, when local rains will occur and in Thrace in the early hours of the morning isolated storms. In the rest of the areas, generally sunny with sparse clouds from the afternoon.
Winds: From north directions 3 to 5 and in the morning hours to sea local 6 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 09 to 20 degrees Celsius. In western Macedonia the maximum will be 3 to 4 degrees lower.
IONIAN ISLANDS, EPIROS, WEST STEREA, WEST PELOPONNISOS
Weather: A few clouds locally increasing in the south in the morning hours with local showers and possible isolated thunderstorms.
Winds: From north directions 3 to 5 and in the morning hours in the Ionian local 6 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 11 to 22 degrees Celsius. In the interior of Epirus 3 to 4 degrees lower.
EASTERN STEREA, EVIA, EASTERN PELOPONNISOS
Weather: Clouds at times increased with local rains. Chance of isolated storms in the early morning hours in Sterea and Evia.
Winds: Northerly 3 to 5 and east local 6 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 14 to 24 degrees Celsius.
CYCLADES, CRETE
Weather: A few clouds in some places with a chance of light rain.
Winds: From west directions 4 to 6 and gradually from the north of north directions with the same intensity.
Temperature: From 17 to 25 degrees Celsius.
EAST AEGEAN ISLANDS – DODECANISE
Weather: On the islands of the eastern Aegean, clouds with local rains and sporadic storms in the morning hours. In the Dodecanese, sparse clouds will gradually thicken and there will be light rain after noon.
Winds: North-northeasterly 4 to 6 and south-westerly 3 to 5 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 17 to 25 degrees Celsius. In the north 3 to 4 degrees lower.
THESSALY
Weather: A few locally increased clouds mainly in the prefecture of Magnesia where there will be local rains and possibly isolated storms in the morning hours.
Winds: Northerly 3 to 5 and east local 6 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 12 to 18 degrees Celsius.
ATTICA
Weather: A few clouds at times increased with the possibility of local rains mainly in the east and north.
Winds: Northerly 3 to 5 and east local 6 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 11 to 24 degrees Celsius.
THESSALONIKI
Weather: Generally sunny with temporary clouds in the east in the morning hours.
Winds: From northerly directions 3 to 5 and in the early morning hours at sea local 6 Beaufort. Gradually from noon variable 3 to 4 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 12 to 19 degrees Celsius.
FORECAST FOR TOMORROW FRIDAY 10-11-2023
Initially in the northern Ionian, Epirus, western Sterea and western Macedonia, from noon in the rest of the west, central Macedonia and Thessaly and from the afternoon in eastern Macedonia, Thrace and the islands of the northeastern Aegean clouds with sporadic rains and storms likely locally strong mainly in the west. In the rest of the country, sparse clouds at intervals thicker with the possibility of local rains in the Cyclades in the evening hours.
Visibility will be locally limited in the morning and evening hours.
Winds will blow to the west from southerly directions 5 to 6 locally in the northern Ionian to 7 Beaufort with weakening from the afternoon. In the east initially from northerly directions 3 to 4 Beaufort, gradually from the west southerly winds 4 to 6 Beaufort will prevail.
Meteorological conditions favor the transport of African dust to the south.
The temperature will drop slightly in the north.
