The EMY issued an emergency bulletin of worsening weather, with the bad weather “hitting” with rain and storms as its main characteristics.
According to the EMY bulletin, the weather will deteriorate from midday on Friday (10-11-23) until late Saturday night (11-11-23) with heavy rains and storms, which will be accompanied by hail and large lightning frequency, initially in the Ionian Islands and the western Peloponnese and gradually in the rest of the west.
The phenomena will gradually extend towards the central and northern continents as well as the eastern Aegean. The winds on the seas will be strong.

A. Heavy rains and storms are forecast:
On Friday (10-11-23)
a. From noon in the Ionian, Epirus, Western Mainland and Western Peloponnese.
b. From the afternoon hours, the rest of Sterea and Peloponnese, the islands of the Eastern Aegean and possibly the southern parts of Thessaly will be affected.
On Saturday (11-11-23)
a. From the morning hours in the northern Ionian, Epirus, western Macedonia, western Sterea, the southern parts of the Eastern Peloponnese and Kythira.
b. From noon in central Macedonia, eastern Macedonia and possibly Thrace.
c. Towards the evening the phenomena will weaken in most areas and will be limited to the islands of the eastern Aegean and the Dodecanese.
B. Southerly winds of intensity 7 to 8 Beaufort will blow in the Aegean from the morning hours of Saturday (11-11-23) until the late afternoon.

Marousakis on Newsbomb.gr: A double blow of bad weather is coming
According to forecast by Clearchos Marousakis at Newsbomb.grthe first wave of bad weather starts tomorrow Friday while the weather will show a new deterioration from Mondayafter a “break” on Sunday.
“We’re entering a more autumnal trajectory”said the meteorologist of OPEN and as he added, the sudden change in the weather will initially affect the western regions of the countryfrom tomorrow at noon.
Rains and later storms are about to occur, while by the end of Friday they will have covered most geographical areas, according to Mr. Marousakis.
The winds they will turn to southerlies and will blow with 7-8 Beaufort in the Aegean while the temperature it will not show any appreciable change and will fluctuate between 23-26 degrees at its maximum values.
Then on Saturday, according to the forecast of Clearchos Marousakis, the day will start with rains, but these will be limited to eastern and southern regions of the country, as the hours pass.
The weather will show a noticeable improvement on Sunday and as Mr. Marousakis underlined, “the marathon in Attica will take place in good weather conditions”.
The second wave of bad weather will begin its advance from Monday with showers and locally strong storms which will again start from the west. This wave is expected to remain in our country even until Wednesday.
As for the temperature, “due to the south winds in the Aegean, it will be cold at night, but at noon we will see 20 degrees”
Especially for Attica, the weatherman said there is a chance of rain tomorrow night, but on saturday the weather will be unsettled and thunderstorms are expected.

FORECAST FOR TOMORROW FRIDAY 10-11-2023
Initially in the northern Ionian, Epirus, western Sterea and western Macedonia, from noon in the rest of the west, central Macedonia and Thessaly and from the afternoon in eastern Macedonia, Thrace and the islands of the northeastern Aegean clouds with sporadic rains and storms likely locally strong mainly in the west. In the rest of the country, sparse clouds at intervals thicker with the possibility of local rains in the Cyclades in the evening hours.
Visibility will be locally limited in the morning and evening hours.
Winds will blow to the west from southerly directions 5 to 6 locally in the northern Ionian to 7 Beaufort with weakening from the afternoon. In the east initially from northerly directions 3 to 4 Beaufort, gradually from the west southerly winds 4 to 6 Beaufort will prevail.
Meteorological conditions favor the transport of African dust to the south.

In the west, the central, the north, and the islands of the northeast Aegean clouds with local rain and sporadic storms possibly locally strong in the west and north. The phenomena in the evening in the west will weaken. In the rest of the areas, clouds temporarily increased with sporadic rains and from midday isolated storms mainly in the Cyclades and the Dodecanese.
Meteorological conditions favor the transport of African dust to the south.
The winds will blow south southwest 5 to 7, in the northeast Aegean possibly temporary locally 8 Beaufort. From the afternoon in the west westerlies 4 to 6 Beaufort
The temperature will rise slightly mainly in the east.
FORECAST FOR SUNDAY 12-11-2023
In the eastern and southern island country clouds with local rain and sporadic storms and gradual weakening. In the rest of the areas, sparse clouds temporarily thicker with the possibility of weak local rains in the west. From the afternoon in the west, the phenomena will intensify and sporadic storms will occur.
Winds will blow from the west at 3 to 5 Beaufort. Gradually in the west they will turn to south directions 4 to 6 Beaufort.
The temperature will drop slightly in the west and north.
FORECAST FOR MONDAY 13-11-2023
Unsettled at times cloudy in most parts of the country with localized showers and isolated thunderstorms. The effects from the afternoon will be limited to the eastern country where they will intensify in the evening.
Winds will blow in the west, central and south-west directions 4 to 6 Beaufort. In the rest of the areas from northern directions 3 to 4 Beaufort.
The temperature will not change appreciably.
