Newly appointed 2023

The net salary of a newly appointed teacher in the public sector, in the first year of appointment with zero seniority, is 737 euros (increased deductions). From 1-1-2024 this amount becomes 776 euros.

The salary of the newly appointed teacher starts from the day on which the appointee took up service.

New appointees enter with MK1, regardless of the MK they held as deputies, which will be recognized later. Child benefits take effect immediately from appointment.

Family provision

From the first moment, the planned family allowance is added to the salary of the newly appointed person.

For an employee with minor children or who are physically or mentally unable to exercise a gainful occupation with a disability rate of at least fifty percent (50%), the benefit until the end of 2023 is defined as:

* Fifty (50) euros for one child,

* seventy (70) euros in total for two children,

* one hundred and twenty (120) euros in total for three children,

* one hundred and seventy (170) euros in total for four children and an additional seventy (70) euros for each additional child.

The above benefit is granted for children from marriage, natural, adopted or recognized, as long as they are unmarried and do not exceed 18 years of age or 19 years, if they are attending Secondary Education.

This benefit is granted regardless of whether the parents are separated, divorced or widowed.

The above benefit is not paid to married, divorced or widowed employees who, however, have not had children, or these children have reached adulthood or finished their studies or in any case have reached the age of 24, with the exception of married employees who have children who are physically or mentally incapable of working for a living with a disability rate of at least 50%.

The determination of the conditions for the granting of the family benefit as well as any change in the number of children that increase this benefit is made by a responsible declaration of the employee submitted to the liquidator of his wages, together with the attached supporting documents (e.g. birth certificate, etc. etc.).

Recognition of prior service

From the first moment that prior service will be recognized by the Service Councils, corresponding Salary Scales will be added to the teachers’ payroll.
