“After the validation of the results of the municipal elections and the announcement of the successful and runner-up municipal councilors and councilors of municipal communities by the Court of First Instance of Syros on November 7, I would like to thank my fellow councilors for choosing me to represent them in the Municipal Council of the Municipality us and to assure, with the weight of responsibility that has always distinguished me in every field I have undertaken in my 34 years of work in the Public Administration, that my presence will be active with my primary concern being to inform the citizens.

In the new municipal term, we are called upon to resolve a number of critical issues for the proper functioning of the Municipality and our island, but also to lay the foundations for its development course, which is the business of all of us.

Along this path, we should move united, in solidarity and strong. With my many years of experience in public finance, a very difficult field of economic sciences, mainly because of the labyrinthine procedures and legislative provisions that surround it, I will try to contribute to their sanity for the benefit of the citizens of Syros.

I am committed to imparting my knowledge and being worthy of your trust. I wish good strength and a creative term to all the municipal and community councilors who were elected, with whom I will accompany in the new municipal term in every decision that will be for the benefit of our Municipality and our fellow citizens.

With warm thanks, Maria Mavrikou Municipal Councilor of the Municipality of Syros-Ermoupolis”.
