In favor of conservation of the Legal Entities under Public Law of the Municipality of Patreon, his party is appointed Kostas Svolis “Patra United”. An announcement states:
“As the Municipal Faction “Patra United” we consent to the request to maintain the Public Law Legal Entities “Social Organization of the Municipality of Patreon” and “Municipal Library – Cultural Organization of the Municipality of Patreon” as well as to the request to maintain the Public Benefit Enterprise with the name “Municipality Public Benefit Enterprise” Patreon Carnival of Patras » as a separate Legal Entity under Private Law.
We are not convinced that the abolition of the above Organizations of the Municipality of Patreon and the merger with the services of the Municipality will contribute to a more orderly operation.
The recently passed law, on the one hand, entered for consultation and voting in the midst of elections with an objective impossibility for the municipal factions to express their opinion, and on the other hand, it does not give the right to the new Municipal Authorities to decide and propose an exemption request.
We consider the privatizations and business groups that, as usual, the current Municipal Authority uses as an argument pretentious and hypocritical. It was proven, once again, at the meeting of the Municipal Council of the Municipality of Patreon on 8/11/2023 that the Mayor and the Municipal Authority use their partisan irrationality instead of common sense, having the denunciation as its own goal.
Let’s try to avoid petty partisanship if we don’t want to continue the discredit of first-rate local government.”
