Serious problems with the hosted children at the “Agios Dimitrios” institution in Thessaloniki

The most serious problems faced by the children hosted at the “Agios Dimitrios” Foundation and their families, brought to the Parliament Member of Parliament A’ Thessaloniki of SYRIZA Katerina Notopoulouwith reference to the presidium of the Parliament.

In the document submitted by Katerina Notopoulou to the responsible Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, Mr. Zacharakis, the Parents and Guardians association “Helpers of the Agios Dimitrios Foundation” clearly describes the serious problems faced by the Foundation, most importantly the lack of care staff, the absence of a Psychiatrist at a time when there are many cases on the autism spectrum, the lack of funding, the lack of food, etc.

In the same letter, it is stated that the Foundation has sent a letter to the Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, Sofia Zacharakis, but received no concrete answers.

SYRIZA-PS Member of Parliament Katerina Notopoulou calls on the responsible Minister to address the serious issues raised by the Association of Parents and Guardians and to take the necessary actions for the better and safer operation of the Rehabilitation and Rehabilitation Department for Children with Disabilities in Thessaloniki, ” Saint Dimitrios”.
