The Secretary of the Parliamentary Group of PASOK-Movement of Change and Member of Parliament for Larissa, Evangelia Liakoulis, met with students of the Primary School of Nicea and their accompanying teachers, as part of their visit to the Hellenic Parliament, pointing out the following:

“It is my great pleasure to meet every time in the “temple of the Hellenic Republic” children from our country, as well as the teachers who accompany them. Today my joy is even greater, because the children are from my Municipality. A part of the building and the history of the Parliament, belongs to our place, represents our place and, inevitably, as a living educational experience, it will accompany with its images the students of the primary school of Nice, even at such a young age , for their entire lives.

It is our duty to give the new generation of Larissa both a voice and a role, at the same time opening up roads for them to be able to walk tomorrow with knowledge and safety.

Tomorrow’s democratic citizens, after all, should be nurtured from an early age, learning the basic procedures of parliamentarism, but also gaining the relevant experiences. At the same time, they learn not only the history of the Hellenic Republic, but also how fragile it is, along with the highest ideal of Freedom. In any case, the presence of tomorrow’s active citizens of the prefecture of Larissa, here in the Parliament, is a guarantee of hope, for a better future of anticipation and creation in the social, political and economic life of our country.

But we, the political representatives of Larissa, also benefit. Because the visits of the male and female students of our schools always give a ray of light, even in our most heavy parliamentary everyday life.

Again, from the tenderest part of my heart, I wish the children of Nice every success and good progress, and I hope that one day some of them will represent Larisa here in the Parliament, from positions of responsibility… Anyway, I gave them the Constitution with the reminder that we respect and preserve the Constitution and the laws, with devotion to democracy and the motherland. And I was moved, because they received it with seriousness and pride, incomparable to their young age – to assure us obviously, that this is the hope!” .
