The dismissal of the 54-year-old from the company he worked for in Thessaloniki hid violence, threats and extortion, according to the police investigation. The owner wanted to fire him, but didn’t want to compensate him. So action as revealed was taken by her husband. He beat him, robbed him and forced him to sign the terms he and his wife wanted. The victim filed a complaint and the police managed to shed light on the case after almost a year.
Police officers of the Department of Prosecution of Extortionists of the Directorate of Security of Thessaloniki, in the context of investigating a complaint and subsequently executing a relevant order of the Prosecutor’s Office, to conduct a preliminary examination for the crime of extortion, solved a case involving a 54-year-old victim.
For the case, a case file was filed against five people, aged 45, 31, 53, 47 and 36 years old, for the respective crimes of extortion, complicity in extortion, illegal violence, complicity in illegal violence together, robbery and insult.
In particular, according to the complaint, in December 2022, the 54-year-old, working in a beauty services company, was informed by the 31-year-old owner of his dismissal, but, due to disagreements regarding the financial terms of his contract, he was attacked and threats from her 45-year-old husband.
As it was established, then, with the use of physical violence, he took from him a sum of money, vehicle keys and various personal items in his possession.
Afterwards, they took the victim to his home, in order to hand them over what the perpetrators wanted, while, after returning to the company, with the help of other accomplices, they forced him to sign his dismissal on terms favorable to the company. The file will be submitted to the competent Prosecutor.
