The need for a one-year extension to Measure 10, which concerns the reduction of nitrate pollution, and specifically to Sub-Measure 10.1.04, which has to do with the reduction of nitrates in groundwater, is underlined by a committee of producers from the prefectures of Karditsa, Larissa and Fthiotida.

The measure expired at the end of 2022 and they are asking for the intervention of the leadership of the Ministry of Rural Development.
With a letter signed by the delegation of the producers’ committee (Asterios Tziolas from the Prefecture of Larissas, Costas Telios from the Prefecture of Karditsas, Panagiotis Stefanoudis from the Prefecture of Fthiotidos and Dinos Makas, Agricultural Technical Advisor), requests the intervention of the Ministry of AAT for the following:
-The fact that many farmers come from Central Greece and were affected by the floods to a partial or total extent, are in financial despair
-When a 1-year extension to the 5-year program Indigenous Animal Breeds was granted and is running

TO THESE LET’S ADD OUR OLDER ARGUMENTS:
-We are asking for a 1-year extension, through a “bridge program”, as there is a lot of participation for this specific measure, while it contributes the most to the protection of the environment. In fact, the new RDP does not provide for when the EU subsidizes pro-environmental programs.
-It has happened in the past and 2 times extension has been given to nitrate pollution programs.
