This year again Greece was present at the China Import and Export Exhibition (6th CIIE), the opening of which took place on November 5 in Shanghai, in the presence of the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Mr. Christou Staikouras, of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Costas Fragogianni, of the General Secretary of International Economic Relations and Outreach of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and President of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Investment and Foreign Trade Company (Enterprise Greece), Ms. Mairas Myrogianni, as well as the Consul General of Greece in Shanghai, Mr. George Partheniou.
The national mission, which consists of 20 Greek companies, was organized for another year by Enterprise Greece. The Greek participation includes eto national pavilion 136 sq.m., a food and beverage booth of 110 m2, and a consumer goods booth of 9 m2, in Booths 5.2H, 2.2H and 6.1H respectively.
It is noted that Enterprise Greece, as the competent national body, under the supervision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for the attraction of investments in Greece and the promotion of exports, actively promotes not only the comparative advantages of Greece in general, but also in particular the export industries of food and beverages, tourism, shipping and especially the supply and feeding of ships, as well as start-up entrepreneurship. The Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry also participates in the Greek mission.
On Saturday, November 4, Mr. Staikouras attended the official welcome ceremony, in the presence of the Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of China, Li Qiang, ahead of the opening of the 6th “International Trade Exhibition” (6 CIIE) in Shanghai, while on Sunday, November 5, the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport represented the Prime Minister at the opening of the Exhibition.
The Greek delegation visited the national stand and talked with the representatives of the companies participating in the exhibition. After the visit, Enterprise Greece organized an event at “Hellas House”. The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Costas Fragogiannis, addressed the greeting, who referred to the important role played by Greek exporters in the Chinese market, as well as to the dynamic presence of our country at the sixth China Import and Export Exhibition in Shanghai (6th CIIE).
