Last weekend Gortynia was at the center of the news broadcasts, this time not for the promotion of her beauty but for unfortunately unpleasant reasons.
The tragic accident with the bus on the road of Lagadia shocked us all. A carmaniola road, which your soul trembles to cross, which, apart from being extremely dangerous for drivers, makes a large area of Gortynia difficult to access and isolated.
No one has doubted the great importance of the Tripoli-Ancient Olympia road axis.
However, the state has not taken care to date, with various excuses, to redesign and upgrade the obsolete and dangerous road axis of the central Peloponnese.
The fixed position of our faction, which we will submit for discussion immediately in the Municipal Council, is the Municipality of Gortynia, the residents and also the visitors of Gortynia who have suffered for years and tolerate this abandonment, to join their voice with the Deputies of the prefecture and the Region and to claim unitedly and dynamically the creation of a modern highway at last.
We hope that in the coming years we will see the progress of the new road project and not sad images of traffic accidents and bus hanging on the cliff.
