Ton the morning of Tuesday, November 7, 2023, a labor accident occurred in Lamia, where it appears that a 60-year-old man died during work on a construction site.
The Fire Brigade’s announcement on twitter states:
“A man’s body was recovered from a construction machine in the Roditsa area of Lamia. 10 firefighters with 3 vehicles responded.”
The Labor Center of the Regional Unity of Fthiotida also issued a statement regarding the work accident:
“The mourning for the working class is heavy today, with the untimely death of another colleague of ours at an asphalt mixing construction site in the area of Lamia, where he was trapped in a construction machine resulting in a tragic death.
The Labor Center of the Regional Unity of Fthiotida is from the first moment in cooperation with the Technical Department of the Labor Inspection Body, in the direction of examining the causes. We ask that the causes of the accident be thoroughly investigated, to check whether the company had taken all the necessary measures stipulated by law and whether these measures were followed, as well as to assign responsibilities where they exist.
We are deeply saddened by the loss of our unfortunate colleague and offer our sincere condolences to his family.”
