The People’s Rally of Haidari responds to the article by Dimitris Alexakis Are we becoming Vouliagmeni?, in which the municipal councilor of Citizens in Action stated that “the newly elected Mayor Mr. Selekos “imposed”, after consultation, on the outgoing Mayor Mr. Diniakos, that the cleaning and lighting fees remain at the same unacceptably high amount in 2024!”
The Popular Rally asks for patience and declares that “will claim any measure that relieves their lives and everyday life, against the suffocating legal and financial framework of the Municipalities, as it did in the period 2014-2019”.
More detail:
PEOPLE’S ASSEMBLY OF HAIDARI
Following yesterday’s announcement by Mr. Alexakis, Municipal Councilor of Citizens in Action (SYRIZA), we would like to invite him to have a little patience, because the People’s Mobilization will take over the administration of the Municipality from January 1, 2024. From here on, we will able to assume his role as “opposition”, because now, in his attempt to “wash” the Municipal Authority of Diniakou, which did not make the slightest reduction in municipal fees, he is exposed.
It is exposed, because the people of Haidariot know that from the first moment the Fighting Municipal Authority of the People’s Rally will claim any measure that relieves their life and everyday life, against the suffocating legal and economic framework of the Municipalities. Whether this is called a reduction in municipal fees or it is called a reduction and zeroing of school fees in daycare centers or it is called a reduction in subscriptions to culture and sports departments.
The Popular Rally did the same in the period 2014-2019, implementing among other things a reduction in municipal fees for small businesses and vulnerable households and claiming a further reduction for the unemployed. But then the Decentralized Administration annulled these decisions of the Municipal Council, aligning itself with the policies of the then government, SYRIZA, which are completely identical to the current policies of the New Democracy.
