As part of the fight against the spread of drugs, checks continue daily in Thessaly.
During the last 5 days, after checks, -13- people were arrested in areas of Thessaly, in -9- different cases, against whom relevant case files were filed.
In particular, the following were arrested, as the case may be:
(A) prefecture of Larissa
· local, on 3-11-2023 at noon in Larissa, by police officers of the Larissa Security Sub-Directorate/OPKE, because, perceiving the approach of the police officers for control, he rejected an improvised cigarette of a mixture of cannabis and tobacco, weighing -1.9- grams, which was confiscated,
· citizen, on 3-11-2023 in the afternoon in Larissa, by police officers of the Larissa Immediate Action Department/Di.AS Team, because, perceiving the approach of the police officers for control, he ran away,
dumping on the road -4- nylon packages with raw cannabis, total weight -3- grams, which were confiscated. The perpetrator was immobilized, while a case file was filed against him for violation of drug legislation and disobedience,
· two citizens, on 4-11-2023 in the afternoon in the area of Tyrnavos, by police officers of the Narcotics Prosecution Department of the Larissa Security Sub-Directorate, because they were caught jointly possessing a nylon package with cocaine, in powder form, weighing -0.4- grams, which was confiscated,
· citizen, late yesterday, 6-11-2023, in the evening to midnight today, 7-11-2023, in Larissa, by police officers of the Larissa Immediate Action Department/DI.AS Team, because he perceived the approach of the police officers for control , threw a nylon package with raw and processed cannabis on the ground, with a total weight of -3.7- grams, which was confiscated, while he resisted when he was stopped. A case file was filed against him for violation of drug laws and violence against officials and judicial persons.
In addition, on 4-11-2023 in the evening in Larissa, by police officers of the Larissa Immediate Action Department/Di.AS Team, a backpack containing a nylon package containing a quantity of raw cannabis, weighing -53- grams and a scale, which were confiscated.
(B) prefecture of Magnesia
· local, on 2-11-2023 in the morning in Volos, by police officers of the Volos Police Department/Di.AS Team, because during the control they found in his possession and seized two paper packages with quantities of raw cannabis, total weight -1, 19-grams,
· domestic, on 2-11-2023 in the afternoon in Volos, by police officers of the Volos Security Sub-Directorate /OPKE, because during the control they found in her possession and confiscated a package containing a quantity of heroin, weighing -1, 1- gram, two packages of cocaine, total weight -0.4- grams and -4- narcotic tablets, without the required medical prescription,
· a foreigner, on 5-11-2023 in the afternoon in Volos, by police officers of the Security Sub-Directorate of Volos/OPKE, because during the control they found in his possession and confiscated -4- nylon packages with amounts of heroin, total weighing -3.91- grams.
(C) prefecture of Trikala
· two citizens, one adult and one minor, on 2-11-2023 in the evening in Trikala, by police officers of the Trikala Police Department/Di.AS Team, because, during the control, they found the first in possession of a quantity of dried cannabis, weighing -1- gram and in the possession of the second a quantity of dried cannabis, weighing -10.5- grams, which were confiscated.
In addition, the minor’s father was also arrested for neglecting his supervision.
(D) prefecture of Karditsa
· three citizens, on 6-11-2023 at noon in Karditsa, by police officers of the Karditsa Police Department/Di.AS Team, because, during the control, they found in the possession of the first one a package of cannabis, weighing -1.7- grams and a folding knife, in the possession of the second -8- narcotic tablets and a folding knife and in the possession of the third, a quantity of cannabis, weighing -0.3- grams and a narcotic tablet, which were confiscated.
Cases were filed against them, as the case may be, for violating drug laws and weapons laws.
The fight against the spread of drugs remains firmly among the priorities of police actions taking place throughout Thessaly.
