What does the Municipality of Lamia say about the improvement program that PEL joined

The decision of the Special Secretary for the Management of ERDF Programs was issued on November 3, 2023 and posted today in “DIAVGEIA” for the inclusion of the Action “Innovative interventions for the improvement and revitalization of the urban environment in the area of ​​the Panhellenic Exhibition of Lamia” in the Operational Program “Transport Infrastructures, Environment and Sustainable Development 2014-2020”.

It concerns the securing of additional funding of 13,000,000 euros for part of the larger project, which is included in the approved Master Plan for the utilization of the wider area of ​​the Panhellenic Exhibition of Lamia (PEL) and refers to individual intervention for an area of ​​58 acres, out of a total of 132 acres of the due to area.

For the Department in question, the decision of the Special Secretary for the Management of ERDF Programs had been preceded by the rejection of the act in question.

Against this decision was submitted by the Development Organization of Local Self-Government SA “AMFIKTYONIES SA”, the objection which was accepted.

The Mayor of Lamia Thymios Karaiskosstated in this regard: “The largest development project planned to take place in Lamia in the last 50 years, is taking shape. By decision of the Special Secretary of Regional Development Programs, Georgios Zervos, and after a positive recommendation by the Head of the Special Program Management Service, the appeal of “AMPHIKTYONIA” was accepted and additional funding of 13,000,000 euros was secured for the project of the Panhellenic Exhibition of Lamia.

For the same section, we had already secured the same funding from the NSRF of Central Greece.

Today’s decision is the vindication for all those who believed in something big and powerful that will change the image of the city and give it the extroversion and dynamism it so needs to move forward into the future.
