The Aria Hotels, the family chain of boutique hotels and independent residences, are strengthening their presence in the Ionian by adding Villa Posillipo to their portfolio. The historic seaside mansion, dating back to the mid-18th century, is located in Sotiriotissa Kontokali, Corfu and is available for booking to guests planning to stay from 2024 onwards.

THE Villa Posillipowhich for four consecutive seasons was the home of the Durrells family in the popular ITV series ‘The Durrells’, is located in a lush green farm full of century-old pine trees, pines, olive groves and many fruit trees, with endless views of the sea, the city of Corfu and the historic islets of Vido and Lazaretto, says a statement.

Villa Posillipo presents an important architectural interest as it preserves in absolute harmony both Venetian features and elements of French and British architecture, while it has a highly aesthetic decoration that combines baroque with modern elements.

The historic Corfu mansion, also known as “Epaulis Pausilipon”preserves intact all the features of Corfu’s Iptanesian architecture, while its interior is decorated with all the original period furniture and art objects such as the bath of Empress Sissy of Austria-Hungary.

Guests of Villa Posillipo can enjoy endless moments of relaxation and tranquility either in the spacious dining room inside the villa or in the marble outdoor dining room, fireplace lounge, BBQ and swimming pool located in the gardens. In addition, guests have the opportunity to spend carefree moments by the sea, since they have direct access to the beach, as well as to the tennis court located within the estate of the mansion, according to the announcement.

The villa is an ideal accommodation option for families and groups of friends, as it can accommodate up to 10 people. It consists in total of five bedrooms, two on the first floor and three on the second floor, all of which have a private bathroom. Specifically, on the first floor there is a spacious suite with a double bed, a living room and a view of the sea and the garden, as well as a bedroom with a double bed and a view of the sea. The second floor has three double bedrooms, two of which have views over the sea and the third over the lush gardens surrounding the villa.
