November 7, 2023 is Open Pain Clinic day.
At the Mytilene Hospital, the Pain Clinic completed three (3) years of continuous operation, relieving patients with chronic pain.
The visits recorded in total are 4,500 and are made both in person, by phone and online. At the same time, in-hospital patients are served after invitations from the doctors of the clinics and departments of the hospital.
The Pain Clinic is under the Anesthesiology Department. It is staffed by two (2) Anesthesiologists with further training in the subject of chronic pain and operates daily.
“Chronic pain is a disease and relief is a right”
It should be noted that chronic pain is treated multifactorially and therefore our Hospital’s Pain Clinic Team includes one (1) psychologist and one (1) physical therapist.
A paper was recently presented by the Clinic at the Panhellenic Conference on Pain and Palliative Care, which focused on the very good results and the improvement of patients from this collaboration.
This year’s message is: Empathy – Compassion – Support for chronic pain patients and their caregivers.
