An incredible incident happened with a doctor in Kavala, who saved a child from drowning and was fined for not paying the… tolls.

The incident that causes a tragic impression happened on the beach of Ofrynio in the province of Kavala.

Specifically, according to GRTimes.gr, in the summer of 2019 a little boy was in danger of drowning and was saved thanks to the intervention of a doctor who happened to be at the scene.

The doctor who provided first aid decided that the child’s life was in great danger and that he had to be immediately transferred to the Kavala hospital as every minute was counting down for his salvation.

In order to gain valuable time and as the ambulance responded that it would arrive at the scene in about an hour, the doctor himself decided on his own responsibility to take him to the hospital, after first informing all the authorities, ambulance, hospital, police and toll.

The ending was happy as the child was saved by the initiative of the private doctor.

Two years later he was fined by the company for not paying at the toll station. The incident was commented on by people belonging to the Health sector.

“Well done to him, I admit” was the comment of the President of the Serres Medical Association, Mr. Angelos Vakalos, on the specific incident, who pointed out the bravery of the act of the doctor who wants to remain anonymous.

The Serre doctor filed an objection, for which he was asked for the data again and is now awaiting the definitive answer.
