Afterwards, there was a broad discussion on the infrastructure projects and on the planning of future actions that the General Secretariat of the Aegean and Islands Policy and the South Aegean Region can jointly carry out, focusing the planning mainly on the small islands of the Region.

At this point, Mr. Leontaritis proposed the convening of a meeting, in which the General Secretariat of the Aegean and Islands Policy, the South Aegean Region and the Mayors of the islands will participate in order to inform the new municipal authorities about the financial tools they can use at all levels, but also to plan an integrated strategic policy for the next five years.

In a statement made at the end of the meeting, Mr. Deputy Governor said:

“The stay of Mr. Koutoulakis at the General Secretariat of the Aegean and Island Policy was very good news for us islanders.

The excellent relations that have developed between the General Secretariat, the Region and the Municipalities guarantee positive results for our islands.”
