A meeting to discuss and take initiatives on the issue of heating is organized by the Prefectural Department of Grevena of ADEDY, on Wednesday, November 8, at 5:30 p.m., in the Municipal Council hall.
All city and region agencies, Public and Private Sector Associations, Merchants’ and Professionals’ Associations, the Agricultural and Livestock Association are invited to participate in the meeting.
As the Prefectural Department of Grevena of ADEDY states in its announcement, it must there should be a reaction from all the inhabitants of the region, as the crushed income of ordinary households that dissipates due to the punctuality that hits red, the unemployment that mainly plagues the youth of Western Macedonia, the wages that have been “frozen” for a decade, make life even more difficult. The sudden increase in the price of electricity, the increasing price of oil, which has started at €1.40 per liter, the increasing price of firewood, lead ordinary households to despair about how they will warm themselves this winter.
As the Prefectural Department of Grevena of ADEDY claims, this situation is not accidental or a bolt from the blue. “It is a result of the long-term policies of de-lignification, the liberalization of the electricity sector and the commercialization of heating”.
