The Directorate of Agricultural Economy and Veterinary Regional Unit of Heraklion informs that Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) of the active substance have been determined phosmet in olive oil and other processed products.
Especially for the olive oil, the A.O.Y. of the active substance phosmet, based on the processing factor of 4.8 (median) determined in our country, is 0.048mg/kg (4.8 x 0.01*mg/kg 1).
But given her banning the use of the active substance phosmet within the EU from 01/11/2022it is clarified that the limit of 0.048mg/kg, in practice, concerns olive oils from older harvests and not for olive oil of the current harvest, as from 15 September 2023 onwards, detection of the active, above 0.01*mg/kg in the current harvest olive oils, falls under the use of a prohibited active substance.
According to the above, to avoid “defamation” of olive oilsuggested detection control of the specific active substance before the handling of olive oils of an older harvest. In addition, special attention must be paid in the cases of traffic outside the Greek territory, regarding the control procedure and the processing factors applied in the country of destination.
