The cultural events of the week (November 6-13) in Ioannina, according to the announcements made so far, are as follows:

November 6

Cinema: “Philomena”

Film screenings by the artistic association “Exauda” at its premises (Kountouriotou 31) with a financial support of 2 euros.

On November 6, at 20:30, the film “Philomena” by Stephen Friars with Judi Dench and Steve Coogan will be screened.

November 7

Theatre: “Sleeping Halepas…”

The performance “Kimomenos Halepas… o salos agios”, by Angelos Andreopoulos, directed by Alexandros Liakopoulos, is coming again to Ioannina, at the “Kyklos” Theater (Aravantinou 14), on Tuesday, November 7, at 21:00.

The work deals with the life of the important sculptor by Tinos Giannoulis Halepa. Giorgis Kontopodis in the role of Halepas.

Cinema: “The Beauty of the Day”

The Cinematographic Group of the University of Ioannina (K.O.P.I.) organizes a tribute entitled “No Sinless One”. The films are shown every Tuesday, at 21:00, at the cultural multi-purpose hall “Dim. Hatzis”, in the old slaughterhouses.

On November 7, the film “The Beauty of the Day” (1967) by Luis Buñuel with Catherine Deneuve will be screened. Free entrance.

November 11

Theatre: “The Emperor’s Dilemma”

The Children’s Stage of DIPETHE Ioannina stages this season the show “The Emperor’s Dilemma” by Alexandros Raptis and Fotis Doussos, based on Hans Christian Andersen’s classic fairy tale “The Emperor and the Nightingale”.

The official premiere, open to the public of the city, will take place on Saturday, November 11, at 21:00, at the Kamperio Theater.

Alexandros Raptis directed it. The roles of the play are performed by the actors: Triantafyllia Pantou, Maria Papagiannaki, Kostas Hatzigeorgiou.

Piano recital by Dora Bakopoulou

A piano recital by the multi-awarded Dora Bakopoulou is organized by the Continental Studies Society on Saturday, November 11, at 8:00 p.m., in the “K. Katsari Hall” of the EHM building (on Paraskevopoulou Street), with free entry.

The pianist will play works by Chopin and Hadjidaki.

November 11 and 12

Theater: “I am the divine infant”

The Actina Theater stages the comedy “I am the baby uncle” by Yiannis Kalabrianos, directed by Athena Tsiknias.

The roles are performed by: Anna Papanikolaou, Apostolos Tzimas, Athena Tsiknia, Panagiotis Chondromatidis. The show will be staged throughout November every Saturday, at 9:00 p.m., and every Sunday, at 8:00 p.m., at the Actina Theater (Annis Komninis 8). First performance on Saturday, November 4.

November 12

Theater: “Animal Farm”

With a new children’s show this season comes the “Theatrical Synopsis”, which proceeded with the theatrical adaptation for children and teenagers of George Orwell’s novel “Animal Farm”.

The premiere from the Children’s Stage will take place on Sunday, November 12, at 11 am, at the “Theatrical Symplay” venue, on “Stage 125” (inside KEPAVI). The show will be uploaded every Sunday.

They play, dance and sing (in alphabetical order): Eri Garzonika, Yolanda Kaperda, Stella Katsaros, Thanasis Michaelidis, Marianna Barba, Vassilis Siafis. Yolanda Kaperda has done the theatrical adaptation and direction.

Theater: “The King with the tree in his heart”

The performance “The King with the Tree in the Heart” will be staged by the theater group “Bagabodo” from November 5th to December 17th, every Sunday, at 11:30, at “Angry Portrait” (Kapodistriou 20).

It is an Epirus fairy tale.

The new album of Giorgos Gakis and the Troublemakers “Parallel Dimensions”, which is released by ROAR – rock of angels records, is presented by the Spiritual Center of the Municipality of Ioannito on Sunday, November 12, at 21:00, at the cultural multi-purpose hall “Dim. Hadji”. In the presentation, all 12 songs from the album will be played, selected earlier and some special arrangements.

On November 12 and 13, at 20:30, Xavier Legrand’s film “After the Separation” will be shown. The story: After their divorce, Miriam and Antoine get joint custody of their son Julien. The son – hostage to a father who knows no bounds and a frightened mother – will go to great lengths to ensure that the worst does not happen.

Exhibition of paintings by Louka Louka

An exhibition of paintings by Louka Louka is organized by the Spiritual Center of the Municipality of Ioannito from November 12 to 25, at the exhibition space of the cultural multi-purpose hall “Dim. Hadji”.

The opening of the exhibition will take place on Sunday, November 12, at 19:00. Opening hours: daily 10:00-13:00 and 18:00-21:00.
