The phenomenon has developed into a “headache” for the local EL.AS.
A barrage of incidents took place on Sunday morning, with minor perpetrators, with the whole issue becoming a “headache” for the Police since on a daily basis the police report is filled with incidents in which young children are the protagonists.
Regarding Sunday, the first incident took place in Ypsilon Alonia square where two minors stole a wallet with an amount of money from an adjacent cafe.
The second one took place on Stamatiou Voulgareos Street near the Refugees area, with an elderly victim, while another similar incident took place in Akrotiri, near Papandreou Square. All three in one breakfast.
We note that last week there was an incident with minors who had beaten and sent an elderly man to the hospital in the area of Zarouhleiki, while another incident involving the theft of a sum of money from minors also took place in Navmachias Ellis.
According to police circles, the whole phenomenon is based on the understaffing that exists in the local EL.AS. and that juvenile perpetrators, even if they are caught, are released after a while.
