O Pope Francis he appealed again for the release of the hostages recalling that “among them there are also many children” which “they must return to their families”
The developments in the Middle East with the ongoing war between Hamas and Israel were mentioned by Pope Francis addressing the faithful gathered in St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican.
“In the name of the Lord, please stop. Cease fire!” said the pontiff. At the same time, he wished “to follow every path that can allow to avoid the expansion of the conflict, to provide help to the wounded and that the aid can reach the residents of Gaza, where the humanitarian situation is very serious”.
Francis once again called for the release of the hostages, reminding that “among them there are also many children” who “must return to their families”.
Finally, the Argentine pope underlined: “We must think of the children, all the children of this war, but also of Ukraine and other regions. In this way, their future is murdered. Let’s pray for the strength to be found, so that everyone can say, “enough is enough”.
