THEcompleted, as announced by I.M. Fthiotidos, the 3rd Litany of the Evangelist of Joy and Patron Saint of Lamia, Saint Luke the Physician, under the title “Litaning the Evangelist of Joy 2023”, which took place throughout the month of October.
In more detail, this Pamphiotic Holy Litany was established by the Most Reverend Metropolitan Fthiotidos Mr. Simeon in order for the Grace of Saint Luke the Evangelist to sanctify and support the faithful of the entire Holy Metropolis.
The fragment of the Sacred Hand of Saint Luke the Evangelist, as well as his Holy Icon together with the Holy Icon of Saint Bessarion of Agathonitos from October 1st and throughout the month, every day, were litanically along the entire length of the Photian land, according to the program, which was established by the Holy Metropolis, sanctifying the faithful.
Especially this year, on the initiative of the Reverend Mr. Simeon, the sacred treasures were brought to the areas of Fthiotido affected by the catastrophic floods, giving strength and hope to the affected residents.
The Reverend Mr. Simeon himself, was in many places of the Holy Metropolis celebrating the High Priestly Divine Liturgy and Holy Supplications and prayers, conveying to the faithful the hopeful word of the Gospel of Christ’s love, a word of hope, consolation and support.
Commissioned priests, preachers of the Holy Metropolis as well as the priests of the Parishes of Fthiotido with the proper ecclesiastical order and due respect carried and received the Holy Relic and the Holy Icons, while the large turnout of the faithful, both in large Parishes and in small and remote villages of the Holy Metropolis.
The fragment of the Sacred Hand of Saint Luke the Evangelist returned to the Holy Church of the same name of the Patron Saint of Lamia, where it remains treasured throughout the year for the blessing of all believers.
