Israel’s Defense Minister: “We will find and destroy the leader of Hamas”
We will “find and destroy” the leader of the Palestinian Hamas in the Gaza Strip, Yahya Shinwar, Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallad said during a press conference in Tel Aviv.
“This Shabbat (Saturday) we fought hard battles inside the Gaza Strip. We have completed the encirclement (of Gaza City) and our forces are operating from the south and the north,” he stressed.
“And to do that we entered residential areas,” he announced.
The Israeli army began its ground operation in Palestinian territory on Friday, October 27, and since then at least 29 soldiers have been killed.
Since October 7, according to Israeli authorities, at least 1,400 people have died on the Israeli side, the majority of them civilians killed on the same day in the carnage perpetrated by Hamas.
In retaliation, Israel declared war to wipe out Hamas, relentlessly pounding the Gaza Strip, which is ruled by the terrorist organization.
From these strikes, nearly 9,500 people, mostly civilians, have been killed, according to the Hamas “government”.
