Attack on police officers in Victoria Square – Intensity and MAT at “Monastiraki” station

Incidents occurred early Wednesday evening, after the completion of the anti-fascist gatherings in Neo Heraklion and Pefkakia.

Specifically, shortly before 20:00 people who came out of the ISAP station in Victoria Square attacked a crew of the DIAS team. who were at the scene.

The attack caused damage to police equipment and machines, while the police were slightly injured.

Clash in Monastiraki

After the incidents, a group of anti-fascists found themselves at Monastiraki station, where a fierce fight took place with far-right activists on the Electrikos platforms.

For this reason, MAT police officers went to the docks of “Monastiraki” station, in order to locate the people who participated in the incident.

According to information, the police made six arrests of far-right activists from Monastiraki.

Interruption of routes

The incidents in Monastiraki resulted in changes to the routes of Elektrikos.

In total, the Greek Police made 39 arrests, while at least one woman was injured from the incidents in Monastiraki and was taken to the “Gennimatas” hospital for first aid.
