Dead woman riding a bicycle. The bus driver reportedly suffered an ischemic attack.

A woman lost her life in a traffic accident that occurred at 3:15 this afternoon, on Monastirio Street, in front of the New Railway Station, in Thessaloniki.

From the investigation so far, it is reported that the driver of the bus line 23 of the OASTH suffered an ischemic attack and fainted, as a result of which he lost control of the vehicle and crossed into the opposite stream. He was transferred to Hippocrates Hospital.

A 40-year-old woman who was riding a bicycle lost her life and the taxi and car drivers involved in the accident were injured. The former was treated at Hippocrates Hospital and the latter at 424 General Military Hospital.

At the time of the accident, there were four passengers inside the bus.

What does the driver say?

“What do you guys say… I started my route normally and then they told me at the hospital about the accident,” the 45-year-old bus driver who lost consciousness is reported to have said, according to thesstoday.

In a statement, the OASTH points out that the management and employees of the Organization “express their pain and sincere condolences” to the family and relatives of the 40-year-old.

According to trade unionists, the driver was a good professional, a family man and a very calm person.
