A 58-year-old man who was cutting wood this morning was crushed by a tree in Halkidiki. The accident occurred in the area of the Municipality of Kassandra.
According to information from thestival.gr, a 58-year-old man was chopping wood as an amateur in an inaccessible forest area at the “Pataka” location of the Municipality of Kassandra, when under unspecified circumstances, a pine tree he was cutting crushed his legs. The accident happened shortly after 09:30 in the morning.
To free the man, an operation was set up by the Fire Service, in which members of the Greek Rescue Team also assisted, while the Police rushed to the scene. The members of the rescue team assisted in extricating and transporting the injured person to the ambulance.
The injured man was picked up by an EKAV ambulance and transported to the hospital where he remains hospitalized.
According to information, his life is not in danger.
