Forum on energy communities and the role they can play in local communities, co-organise on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 9:30 a.m., in the auditorium of the Municipal Library of Kozani the University of Western Macedonia (EMMY Department), the Kozani Chamber of Commerce and the Regional Union of Municipalities of Western Macedonia.
The aim of the event is to open the agenda of the debate on energy communities and their importance for the Just Transition of our region, to communicate the resulting benefits, to highlight the problems and difficulties of the existing legal framework and to highlight good practices applied in Europe and their applicability in Greece.
The forum will be attended by Members of the European Parliament, representatives of the A’ and B’ local governments as well as those involved with entities in the energy sector. A large part of the program is dedicated to society with two special discussion topics and no-holds-barred questions.
The event takes place within the framework of the European SunSharing Programme, which focuses on promoting the implementation of energy communities with photovoltaic plants in all participating countries as well as initiatives to finance such investments. The SunSharing program, which started in December 2022 and will run until December 2024, is funded by The German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK).
