In a few years, Komotini will acquire its new General Hospital, with an exclusive donation from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF). in the framework of International Health Initiative (IHI) of the SNF, with the aim of expanding access to health care, enhancing the quality of health services for all, and empowering frontline health professionals.
The new General Hospital of Komotini SNF, which will replace the existing infrastructure in a new location near the city, aspires to be a model of public hospitalization, treatment and care for the residents of Eastern Macedonia, Thrace, and especially the Prefecture of Rodopi. The project has been designed by the internationally renowned architect Renzo Piano, in a shared vision with the SNF to create a hospital that is a global pioneer through the integration of the highest environmental standards and a truly human-centered approach in all aspects of the architectural, clinical and operational design.
Shortly before the start of construction workand faithful to the commitment to keep communication open with the local community, today Wednesday November 1 is being organized presentation-discussion about the project, at 18:00, at the theatre REX.
The discussion will be attended by Deputy Minister of Health Mr. Marios Themistokleouswhile a greeting will be addressed, via live connection, by SNF President, Mr. Andreas Drakopoulos.
