An alarm has been raised today in EL.AS., for gatherings on the occasion of the completion of 10 years since the murder of the two members of Golden Dawn, despite the ban that exists for Attica, while 21 far-right Italians were arrested at the “Eleftherios Venizelos” airport.
After information that members of far-right organizations abroad will respond to a call to rally scheduled for today, there was information that 21 Italians will come to Greece by air, according to police sources quoted by APE.
As soon as they arrived at “Eleftherios Venizelos” airport, on Tuesday night, these 21 people were arrested and taken to the Directorate of Alienswhere they are being held, in order to start the process of administrative deportation against them, for reasons of national security, the same sources report.
Already taken draconian measures in Neo Heraklion near the spot where the two members of Golden Dawn, Manolis Kapelonis and Giorgos Fundoulis, were murdered 10 years ago.
Also, by order of EL.AS., the ISAP station in Neo Heraklion will close at 14:00 and trains will pass through it without stopping.
Despite the ban on gatherings imposed by the police, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the murder of the two Golden Dawn members, demonstrations by both far-right and anti-fascist groups are planned for the afternoon.
For this reason, more than 3,000 police officers will be on foot, while drones are also expected to be deployed, in order to avoid any incidents.
EL.AS.: Prohibition of gatherings in Attica
Already at 06:00 in the morning, the ban on all public gatherings in Attica has come into force on the occasion of the completion of ten years since the murder of the two members of Golden Dawn.
The ban will be in effect until 06:00 on Thursday morning, and was imposed because “there is a serious risk to public safety, due to the possible commission of serious crimes, in particular against life, bodily integrity and property, from holding assemblies and ” anti-gatherings” by groups of opposing positions”, according to EL.AS.
In addition, the same police announcement stated, “there is a serious threat of disruption of socio-economic life, both in the areas where gatherings have been announced, and in the other areas of the prefecture of Attica, where similar gatherings are likely to take place, as well as the simultaneous presence in a climate of polarization concentrated groups”.
