Traffic arrangements in Kypseli for the next 3 months for the Metro works

Interventions in the area will take place in three phases

Temporary traffic regulations will apply during the period from November 1, 2023 to February 1, 2024 throughout the 24 hours, due to the execution of works in the framework of the construction of line 4 of the Athens metro.

In particular, temporary traffic regulations will apply in the following road sections in the area of ​​Kypseli, of the Municipality of Athens. The intervention plan will be implemented in three phases, beginning on Wednesday, November 1.

PHASE 1

In the 1st phase:

• Gradual reduction of the width of the road surface around Kanari square, minimum width of approximately 4.50 m. with occupation of the left side of the road surface in the direction of movement of vehicles.
• Gradual reduction of the width of the road surface of Skopelou Street, a minimum width of approximately 3.50 m from its junction with Fok Street. Negri until its junction with Kypselis Street, occupying the left side of the roadway in the direction of traffic.
• Gradual blocking of the roadway of Kypselis Street from Kanari Square to its junction with Skopelou Street with occupation of the traffic flow towards Skopelou Street.
• Two-way flow of traffic towards Kanari Square of Kypselis Street and in the part of it from Kanari Square to Skopelou Street.
• Determination of the maximum speed limit at 30 km/h for vehicles moving in the area of ​​the works in the section determined from the beginning of the occupation of the construction site until its end.
• Prohibition of overtaking for vehicles moving in the works area in the section determined from the beginning of the occupation of the construction site until its end.
• Prohibition of stopping and parking of vehicles on both sides of the roadway in the area of ​​the works in the section determined from the beginning of the occupation of the construction site until its end.

PHASE 2

In the 2nd phase there will be:

• Gradual reduction of the width of the road surface of Kanari Square Street, a minimum width of approximately 6.50 m from its junction with Fok Street. Negri until its junction with Kalogera Street, occupying the right side of the roadway in the direction of traffic.
• Gradual reduction of the width of the road surface of Kanari Square Street, a minimum width of approximately 5.00 m from its junction with Velvendou Street to its junction with Krissis Street, with occupation of the right side of the road surface in the direction of movement of vehicles.
• Total blockade of Pythias Street approximately 20.00 m. after its junction with Pythonos Street up to the construction site occupation on Plateia Kanari Street.
• Gradual reduction of the width of the road surface of Skopelou Street, a minimum width of approximately 3.00 m from its junction with Fok Street. Negri until its junction with Kypselis Street, occupying the right side of the roadway in the direction of traffic.
• Characterization of Pythias Street as a dead end from its junction with Pythonos Street to the construction site occupation.
• Determination of the maximum speed limit at 30 km/h for vehicles moving in the area of ​​the works in the section determined from the beginning of the occupation of the construction site until its end.
• Prohibition of overtaking for vehicles moving in the works area in the section determined from the beginning of the occupation of the construction site until its end.
• Prohibition of stopping and parking of vehicles on both sides of the roadway in the area of ​​the works in the section determined from the beginning of the occupation of the construction site until its end.

PHASE 3

For the 3rd phase it is planned:

• Gradual reduction of the width of the road surface of Kanari Square Street, a minimum width of approximately 4.00 m from its junction with Fok Street. Negri until approximately 20.00 m. before its junction with Kypselis Street, occupying the left side of the roadway in the direction of traffic.
• Gradual reduction of the width of the road surface of Kanari Square Street, with a minimum width of approximately 4.00 m and a length of approximately 15.00 m at its junction with Kypselis Street at the height of the triangular island, with occupation of the right side of the road surface during direction of movement of vehicles.
• Gradual reduction of the width of the road surface of Kanari Square Street, a minimum width of approximately 8.00 m and a length of approximately 30.00 m at its junction with Velvendou Street, with occupation of the right side of the road surface in the direction of movement of vehicles.
• Gradual reduction of the width of the road surface of Kanari Square Street, a minimum width of approximately 4.50 m from its junction with Pythias Street to its junction with Faidrianon Street, with occupation of the right side of the roadway in the direction of traffic.
• Total blockade of Velvendou Street from its junction with Filotimou Street to the construction site occupation.
• Characterization of Kalogera Street as a dead end from its junction with Skopelou Street to the construction site occupation.
• Compulsory course with a right turn for vehicles moving from Kalogera Street to Skopelou Street.
• Determination of the maximum speed limit at 30 km/h for vehicles moving in the area of ​​the works in the section determined from the beginning of the occupation of the construction site until its end.
• Prohibition of overtaking for vehicles moving in the works area in the section determined from the beginning of the occupation of the construction site until its end.
• Prohibition of the stopping and parking of vehicles on both sides of the roadway in the area of ​​the works in the section determined from the beginning of the occupation of the construction site and until its end, on Kastalias Street from Kerkyras Street to Kypselis Street, on Corfu from Velvendou Street to Delvinou Street, from Phaethontos Street to Elateias Street and approximately 20.00 m before its junction with Kastalias Street, on Krissis Street from Kanari Square Street to Pythonos Street and on Pythonos Street from Krissis Street to Velvendou Street.
