The owner of the traditional Hinitsa bay tavern has reportedly refused any discussion to sell his business.
The case that is seeing the light of day is reminiscent of a movie script, starring an Irish billionaire who gives an unimaginable sum to buy a traditional tavern in Porto Heli, but whose owner stubbornly refuses any discussion.
Grandma’s Tavern
In the enchanting bay of Hinitsa, on the sea, since 1955 the Taverna tis Yagia has been located, one of the most classic and well-known taverns of Ermionida.
An Irish steel billionaire, Mr. Coulson, has bought a lot of land in the area and wants to buy the tavern as well. In fact, he offers the astronomical amount of 20,000,000 euros but – until now – the owner, according to information, refuses to sell it.
The hotels
The businessman is said to have loved the area and so after initially buying a house, he proceeded to buy two hotels. These are AKS Hinitsa Bay and AKS Porto Heli, one located on the beach in Porto Heli and the other on the beach of Hinitsa.
According to information, the price is at the level of 50 million, according to “Kathimerini”.
Before this transaction, Colson had also bought the so-called “Alexi Estate” of approximately 300 acres for a sum of 50 million.
The estate and forest maps
In addition, he has also acquired an area between the estate and Hinitsa where the one hotel is located. A large part of Alexiou’s estate is, according to the published forest maps, a forest area and being outside the plan, he can only build the prescribed 200-350 meters.
However, reliable sources state that “he has received suggestions to consolidate this area with AKS Hinitsa Bay so that he can benefit from provisions of the legislation that allow the development of holiday homes even in such unplanned forest areas as long as they are part of an integrated tourist complex”.
