Shocking is the testimony of the Serbian tourist who saved the wife of the drowning 50-year-old Romanian. He talks about a selfie the couple was taking when the waves washed over and covered the unfortunate man.
The Serbian tourist was on the beach with his family when he says he saw the couple taking a selfie and the woman being swept away by the waves. “I immediately ran, despite my wife and daughter screaming, and tried to catch her. At one point we were both under water and I think the wave threw us ashore.
Then someone took her from my arms and dragged her to a safe area. Then we realized her husband because the woman started screaming,” said the eyewitness. The Serbian tourist is in a state of shock from what happened. As a selfie on the waves says, she was the one who caused the tragedy.
The 50-year-old Romanian, with his wife, were in Kathisma. According to ilefkada.gr, there were strong waves on the beach and the lifeguards had asked everyone on the beach not to dive and not to swim in the deep.
