For a third postponement goes the submission of bids for the large Tender of 292 million euros concerning the assignment, with PPP, to a private entity, of the Operation and Maintenance of the Thessaloniki Metro for a period of 11 years.
As he said, the submission of the bids had been postponed for Monday, January 16, and the many interested parties and candidates, foreign and Greek groups, were ready by 11 am. to submit the envelopes with their offers.
However, as makthes.gr is informed, INTRAKAT’s appeal to the Council of State gave rise to second thoughts in the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and Attiko Metro SA.
The appeal was discussed on January 10 at the CoE and the Councilors gave both sides until Tuesday to submit their memoranda. INTRAKAT requests postponement of the Tender and amendment of condition 2.2.8.1 of the Declaration which it claims excludes it from the tender process.
The competition has entered into adventures and with it the opening time of the Thessaloniki Metro. Instead of the bids being submitted on 12/2/2022, instead of being submitted on 1/16/2023 now, they are being moved to some future date that has not yet been announced.
And in the meantime, there’s an election coming up with all that that can entail for keeping promises and timelines. The Metro Operation and Maintenance Authority wants a year to prepare and the months and days do not come out, for the end of 2023. So we are probably going for commercial operation in 2024, after all Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has said so twice.
It should be noted that the international tender for the conclusion of a PPP contract, announced on 2/9/2022 by “Attiko Metro SA”, has the following objects: a) provision of services related to the operation and maintenance of the Thessaloniki Metro network as well as (b) procurement, installation and commissioning of a relevant information system, in accordance with the provisions of the Tender documents.
