In the last year alone, he was faced with respiratory problems, an ischemic episode, the coronavirus that knocked on his trial door and various other things that forced him to cross the threshold of the hospital several times. How fragile he is was noticed in his last appearance. When a few months earlier he appeared in the center of Athens in wheelchair, with oxygen tubes. The last ischemic episode he suffered was on December 16, 2021. Then he was transferred to the Kranidi Health Center in Argolida and after a superhuman effort by the doctors, he managed to recover. The former king and his wife had moved to Kolonaki from Porto Heli months earlier in order to be monitored by his doctors and to be close to the private hospital, where he is still being treated today.

Naturally, they float, the information that sees the light of day is minimal. Both the family and the nursing staff are guarding these difficult moments of the 82-year-old tooth and nail. Everyone understands the interest of the people. However, it is about one difficult battle, with the doctors appearing pessimistic and worried about this outcome. The former royal family visited the chapel of Agios Eleftherios, in the Metropolis of Athens, to pray for the improvement of his health. Besides, his wife, Anna – Maria and their children are near him every day, during the visiting hours of the Unit. Initially, there were rumors about whether or not he was intubated. It has been confirmed that this is not the case. Despite this, his contact with the environment is limited.

However, it makes an impression that at the time when Konstantinos Glyksburg is fighting for his life, cups and mugs with his likeness, but also greeting cards from the wedding of his son Pavlos, with Marie Sandal in 1995, to cutlery with the carved crown in bottoms of them and letters bearing his signature are being sold online, with prices rising and buying interest increasing.
