This is the seaside plot in Paros that Eva Kaili bought with her partner

--

All the assets of Eva Kaili and her relatives have come under the microscope of the prosecutors against the background of the Qatargate case, with the developments in the case being stormy.

Among them is the plot of about 7 acres that the Greek MEP bought in Paros, together with her partner Francesco Giorgi.

The specific plot in Paros, according to ERT, is located in one of the most beautiful locations of the island and at a distance of 600 meters from the sea. The sale of the plot, photos of which were presented by ERT, was made for 300,000 euros last March, a period during which Eva Kaili and Francesco Giorgi are being checked in Greece and Italy.

“At the given time, the minimum value of such a property with these specifications, i.e. a property at a distance of 600 meters from the sea, is 450,000-500,000 euros. The minimum value. The construction cost now in total is at least 400,000 euros,” said the president of the Hellenic E-Real Estates Network, Themistoklis Bakas.

The plot of land was not bought through a company but is owned by the couple, who according to the architect-engineer who undertook the permit review, would use it as a holiday home.

The couple’s specific asset has been frozen following the revelation of Qatar Gate, while the Corriere della Serra newspaper claims that the purchase of the area in Easterni is under the microscope of the Prosecutors together with a property in Cervinia.

Pancheri puts three MEPs in the frame

Meanwhile, Antonio Panzeri, the Italian former MEP who appears to be the “mastermind” of the Qatargate scandal, appeared willing to speak and give names to the Belgian prosecutors.

As Repubblica reports in today’s publication, during his statement to the Belgian prosecutors, Pancheri allegedly confessed and accepted some of the charges against him.

“In return, we would receive 50,000 euros” he reportedly said at one point, essentially admitting that he was financed.

At the same time, he also gave some names in order to fall “into the soft”.

Declaring his readiness to cooperate and provide information on other MEPs, Panzeri first “pointed” to Francesco Cozzolino from the Democratic Party. This is the man who would take Pancheri’s place in the European Parliament to promote the interests of Qatar and Morocco.

In addition, the Italian former MEP also mentioned the name of fellow Socialist MEP Mark Tarabella, whom he said “visited Qatar”, but also that of Maria Arena (also a Social Democrat), of whom he said: “I know she went once in Qatar and received gifts”.

Pancheri also reportedly confirms the central role of Morocco’s ambassador to Poland, Abderrahim Atmoun, as the intermediary between the country’s secret services and the Italians involved in Qatargate.

In his testimony, the “mastermind” of the corruption scandal is said, according to La Reppublica, to explain that the “deal” with Qatar was born in 2019, after he failed to be re-elected to the European Parliament.

In the estimation of Italian journalists, this is a “defensive” attempt by Pancheri to convince the prosecutors that he did not take money during his time as an MEP. He himself is reported to have said that “the money in my house was not meant for someone else”.

The 700,000 euros in 50-euro notes found in seven packages in a suitcase under the bed, but also in a safe in the living room of Pancheri’s house, is the element that currently constitutes the strongest “paper” of the Belgian corruption prosecutor, Michel Clez, who coordinates the investigations.
