Jakob Kellett spoke to his home country’s “tipsbladet” website about the new experience he is expected to live in Greece by managing the “eternal” derby.

The 42-year-old referee, who was appointed to officiate the derby between Panathinaikos and Olympiakos on Sunday (19:30-06/11), he emphasized that he is optimistic that everything will go well in the game and that he is not at all anxious about it. He pointed out that he has refereed other matches in Greece and it had gone quite well.

What Jakob Kellet said in detail:

It will be an exciting experience. I think it will be very similar to the Danish derby, which I have refereed many times. There’s no admission for away fans to the game, but there’s probably going to be a… blast anyway. I have refereed European matches in Greece in the past and they usually went very well, so I am not stressed about anything. I’ve tried almost everything».

The publication also states that: The matches between the two clubs are always conducted by a foreign referee and according to information this is also done for security reasons, as the Greek referees who have whistled the Panathinaikos-Olympiakos games in the past, often received threats after the matches»!
