A taxi was used as a means to hide and traffic drugs, four Greeks who were arrested by the Police Authorities during an operation carried out in Acharnes and Zephyri, on Thursday afternoon.
Police officers from the Directorate of Police Operations of Attica, OPKE participated in the operation. and “Blue”, the police dog, who “unearthed” the drugs from the special cache that the 31-year-old had placed them in. It is noted that, for the first time, a special vehicle procured by the Drug Enforcement Administration was used in this operation to “scan” suspicious vehicles in order to detect any narcotic substances.
The police officers of the Narcotics Prosecution Sub-Directorate of the Attica Security Directorate arrested two men -aged 31 and 53- and two women -aged 34 and 50- who are accused of violating the legislation on addictive substances. In addition, a 36-year-old Greek man was identified and is being sought.
As it emerged from the investigation, the 31-year-old had hidden three nylon packages containing heroin weighing 1,240 grams inside the taxi. and a nylon package, carefully hidden in a specially designed crypt behind the vehicle’s stereo screen, containing 265 grams. heroin.
He had received the above quantities from the home of the 53-year-old and the 50-year-old woman, through the hands of the 34-year-old and 36-year-old (not arrested co-accused) and they hid them in the taxi for the purpose of further trafficking.
The taxi with the configured cache was used exclusively for drug trafficking, with the aim of avoiding detection of the trafficked quantities and their subsequent confiscation.
