An informal prolonged pre-election period has been going on for weeks by the municipal faction Spiral: Visits to the settlements that make up the Municipality of Patreon, continuous contacts with the citizens on an individual and collective level, distribution of newspapers and discussions with the citizens in various districts of the city, submission of specific positions and proposals for Patras, intense opposition discourse on all self-governing issues, operation of faction offices and special events.
October 2022, moreover, has been set as the month of the official start of the pre-election year, given that the next municipal elections have already been set, by the corresponding law, for Sunday, October 8, 2023 (with repeated elections – second Sunday, i.e. , for the election of mayor – on Sunday, October 15, 2023).
The spiral has already requested and secured the Municipal Theater “Apollo”, in order to host on its stage an open all-day meeting process that will be discussed, on Saturday October 8, 2022, exactly one year before the municipal ballot box for the Municipality of Patreon. It will have been preceded, one week earlier (on the morning of Saturday, October 1, 2022, at the “Orofos” theater), by an internal process of the faction, a meeting of members entitled “Get Positions”.
The members of the faction are constantly increasing. Political executives from all other factions join the ranks of the city’s unique independent self-governing movement. “Meetings to get to know the spiral”, moreover, are organized on a regular basis. Two such open meetings will be held at the faction’s offices (on the ground floor of 100 Alexandrou Ypsilantos), on Wednesday 21 and Wednesday 28 September 2022, at 8pm. Petros Psomas and his colleagues address a public call to fellow citizens who are interested in being informed about the vision, ideas and way of organizing the spiral, with the aim of their possible inclusion in the register of members of the faction.
On this occasion, the new opening hours of the office are also announced: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 6-9pm.
