In parliament the memorandum of presidents of local communities and cooperatives of wine-growing regions

Heraklion MP SYRIZA – Progressive Alliance Sokratis Vardakis brings to the parliament the memorandum of presidents of local communities and cooperatives of wine-growing areas, with which they request compensation for affected raisin producers due to this year’s disaster in their production, submitting a Report to the Minister of Rural Development and Food, with the co-signature of Heraklion MPs Haris Mamoulakis, Lasithi Manolis Thrapsaniotis and Chania Pavlos Polakis.

As pointed out in the memorandum signed by 6 presidents of local communities of wine-growing regions (Profiti Ilias, Dafnon, Kyparissio, Venerato, Avgeniki and Kerasion) and the president of the Krousonas Cooperative, the amount of raisins destroyed by the recent heavy rains amounts to approximately 200 tons and concerns 90 producers.

A generous compensation of the affected producers will give significant help and breath to the region’s grape growers, enabling them to grow their vines and the new growing season. Given the above, the deputies call on the competent Minister to examine the memorandum and to be informed about the actions he is going to take.
