What is the reason for the small increase in cases?
Small increase (7%) of SARS-CoV-2 cases has been observed in the last week and this increase, according to the EODY, is mainly found in people belonging to in the 6-12 and 13-18 age groups. The increase is expected due to the start of the school year, and the increase in the number of contacts between children and teenagers, notes EODY.
To limit the spread of the coronavirus, it is recommended that children, adolescents and adults observe preventive measures such as early isolation, performing diagnostic tests and early diagnosis, avoiding contact with people who belong to vulnerable groups, as well as strong recommendation to wear a mask for those with symptoms. In general, mask use is encouraged indoors.
