A lawsuit for exposing a minor to danger was filed against the parents of the two-year-old child who Thursday afternoon he disappeared from a field in Halkidiki and was located hours later at a great distance from where his tracks were lost.
According to the latest information from protothema.gr, the unthinkable incident happened at around 4 pm, two hours earlier than initially reported, in an olive field where the mother and father of the minor boy work, when the child escaped attention them and disappeared. At that time, the minor’s parents were busy picking olives, in the presence of the owner of the agricultural land located in Nikiti, and when they noticed the boy’s absence, they started searching for him.
The parents did not immediately notify EL.AS., but after two hours when the child’s traces were missing. As soon as they received the “signal” of a missing minor, the police immediately began to “plough” the area and conduct searches in every possible and unlikely place where the two-year-old boy could be. The agony ended five full hours later, when a local landowner managed to spot the child in the dark and alerted the police.
The two-year-old boy was found safe and sound one kilometer from the olive field where he disappeared at 4pm and the incident ended minutes before 9pm.
The preliminary investigation was undertaken by the police officers of the Poligyros Security Department. The two Roma parents of the child, the 16-year-old mother and the 17-year-old father, were arrested on Thursday night and will be brought before the prosecutor on charges of endangering a minor.
